Elders Barber Shop

After recently moving to the Appomattox area, I was looking for someone I could call "My Barber". You know, the kind of barber who you go to regularly, who does a great job cutting your hair, and who makes the haircut go by quickly with witty banter and good conversation. Well, after just one visit, I am proud to call David Elder "My Barber". His shop is clean, organized, has a great atmosphere with the various pictures and memorabilia, and he gives a great haircut. I'm looking forward to many more visits to Elder's Barber Shop.

They only do appointments, not a walk in barber, came in today, guy said sorry but ever since Covid they only do appointments and are typically 5 weeks out. Would definitely not recommend wasting your time checking this place out. If you’re just trying to get a basic men’s haircut.

If you're looking for a small town barber shop with big city skill this is the place. David takes the time needed with client to give them the cut they want. You may have to wait a bit, but that's a testament to the work he does.

There is nothing like an old family run barbershop. Don't be in a hurry, David is about quality, not quantity. Dave takes appointments now and that makes it well worth getting in.

David Elder is a great barber and this is a great place to go. Good with kids and everyone that enters his shop. Remembers your name, your stories and anything you want to talk about. $13 for a cut and $12 for seniors. He'll trim, shape your beard, cut the hard lines the young kids love nowadays, trim eyebrows, sideburns, even seen give a couple straight razor shaves. He does it all for the same price. Most shops now charge extra or are so expensive to begin with for these personal touches he gives to his customers. With the experience you do have a wait on most days unless you get there and take your place in line before he opens at 8:00. Hint arrive at 7:45 you'll probably still be 4th or 5th in line. 😁 Early bird gets the worm for sure here.
