Effie's Hair Studio

Disappointed. Sent my daughter to get her hair trimmed. She told them inch and half trim and her hair doesn't even look like it was trimmed. $75 for practically 10mins of doing absolutely nothing. Feel like she was ripped off because no one else was with her. Would not recommend.

Effie is the most amazing stylist I've ever had. He is completely transparent when he makes suggestions about my hair and I trust all of his decisions. He turns my hair into gorgeousness, as I get compliments all the time. Not only is he a great listener and gives the best advice. Love him and the salon - there is no where else I'd rather go and would never let anyone else touch my hair.

THEY SHOULD ADVERTISE THAT THEY DON'T DO BLACK HAIR. Im a 4b hair type, beautiful big waves, Afro-Latina. Went physically one time and was quoted $50 to flatiron. Returned to get it done another day and was ignored at first, then looked at as alien, the finally was told they CANNOT HANDLE my hair. AFTER, I initiated a greeting from what looked to be the owner. ... I live close by and hv been an exception in this area for the passed 5 years, but they seemed so hilariously unclassy and pretentious. Never going there, and neither are my half, quater or full Latina friends ! ... I graciously took my things and left while the other few clients were balking and ashamed for them. Very sickening experience.

The salon had welcoming atmosphere, talented professionals and pampering experiences from start to finish.

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. Effie worked a miracle on my hair! I wasn't happy with my color from a previous appointment at another hair salon, and he understood exactly what I wanted and exactly how to execute it. He is someone who knows what he is doing. Everyone in the salon was unbelievably friendly, so not only did I get a fantastic color and haircut, but I walked away with my awesome blow-out, just feeling very happy and positive. Best hair salon in upper east side!!!
