Downtown Barber Shop

It is with Great Sadness to tell others that I was Informed that Mike Murphy the owner of Downtown Barber Shop on Willamette and Tejon passed away approximately around May 23rd 2023 after a long illness. I confirmed it with one of the owners of the building and I stopped over at his apartment complex and they notified me of the same information . At this time I know of no other information if they had services, if they're having services or whatever the case may be. Rest in peace Mike. Mike has been cutting hair in Colorado for over three decades, but he just opened his own shop in downtown Colorado Springs. I called him up for a drop in and he had me in the seat 10 minutes later. Awesome no nonsense barber cut at a great price ($20). Mike is great to chat with and knows how to give an excellent haircut. I will be giving him a call every time I’m in town from now on.

The first time I had my hair cut by Mike I was about to go on a trip, and I needed my hair trimmed up last minute. I called a few places around town, but they couldn't get me in without a reservation. I showed up at Downtown Barber shop a few minutes before closing time, and Mike happily stayed to give me a haircut (and it was actually his birthday that day!) Besides the incredible service, my hair looked great. I'm on camera for work, and I get free haircuts at a salon... but I'll keep going to Downtown Barbershop instead.

Mike is the best I know. He has been my barber the past 2 years. I come down from Denver just to see him. He loves what he does and truly cares about his customers. First name basis with everyone who comes in. That old school service that you cant find anymore. Cant find a more steady hand with a straight razor. Thanks mike!!!

Mike is the BEST in the West. I live close to this shop and have been going the last few months. Mike has given me a great professional look every time. I’m in sales and see customers daily. I need to look sharp. Mike gets the job done well to keep me looking my best. Thanks Mike!! See you soon.
