I wanted to love this place- in fact I did for a really long time. They do such a good job with the boho braids and I constantly get compliments but I paid for a takedown service like I usually do- this time, it’s like they were taking ny hair down with their eyes closed. I usually go in with my braids already chopped because my natural hair usually hits a little past my shoulder and I don’t want them to accidentally cut it. They still cut my hair shorter than that without asking me about length or anything… as a result, I go to my hair dresser this morning to get cleaned up and my hair is completely uneven and all of my ends are broken because they only use a fine tooth comb to detangle and tug so hard at your head. This is suppose to be protective hairstyle and I had to cut my hair the
This is by far my worst experience with Dolly house. I typically always book small or small medium knotless braids and get mid-back. Now normally when I get mid back the braid normally stops at the middle of my back and the extra hair hang a little longer. This time EVERYTHING literally stops above my top clip on my bra. THIS IS NOT MID BACK. So I requested to have it how the normally braid.it. All of a sudden it’s an extra $60 which is cool. Then they proceed to try to tell me that EVERY time I’ve gotten my hair braided the braider must’ve accidentally braided too long. I’ve been there over 10 times. No way! So I requested for longer and my original braided said she needed help so she called help when the help got there she left. So one person was left to take half of every braid down to
I’ve been coming to this braid salon for almost 4 years. My experience started off great—I loved how my braids turned out and always received compliments. Unfortunately, over my last few visits, the experience has gone downhill due to inconsistent communication and a lack of empathy and professionalism. I’ve booked appointments where the assigned braider didn’t show up, appointments were pushed back an hour without any call or notice, and no one took accountability. Today (12/21) was the final straw. I booked boho braids, and not only did the braider not know they were scheduled to do boho, but there was also no boho hair available in the salon. I was told it had recently been added to their page that customers must bring boho hair—however, I’ve booked boho twice before and the hair was p
I’ve been going to Dollyhouse African Hairbraiding for at least five years, and for the most part I’ve always had great experiences. I only had one disappointing visit years ago where my medium knotless braids came out looking “boneless,” but I still returned because the quality was usually consistent. I visited on November 14, 2025 for small knotless mid-back braids. The braids themselves were neat, but the finishing process ruined the overall look. The stylist who did the back of my head seemed to leave my braids in the hot water too long—when she pulled them apart, I could literally hear them sticking together. She then trimmed the ends excessively with an eyebrow razor, leaving me with an extremely blunt cut instead of the natural tapered finish knotless braids should have. I still ti
Some of the braiders are very good, and the price you pay is comparatively good for what’s charged these days for braids. However, I cannot recommend this place because they charge you for services they do not fully complete. This is the second time I have paid for knotless braids and only had the front half of my braids knotless and the back half of my braids actually be box braids. I feel they do this to try to rush you out of the chair and because they know you cannot see what the person braiding the back part of your hair is doing. Absolutely deceptive business practices. Go somewhere where you will pay more, but actually pay for what you ask for.
