BOOK THE DANG APPOINTMENT YALL!! Wow, what an experience. This appointment was about so much more than just a cut or style for me. It was a huge transition/ transformation, I walked into Ms. Leyla’s salon very nervous and angsty due to the sheer amount of breakage my hair has experienced since the initial application process, prior to my appointment. I walked in hoping I wouldn’t be turned away because I KNEW my hair was absolutely damaged and not much there to work with. Boy was I so pleasantly proved wrong, Ms. Leyla is so absolutely kind hearted, gentle and caring. After years of searching for and being hesitant to commit to a curly hair stylist, I'm so grateful a mutual friend connected me with Leyla. She's definitely knowledgeable and passionate about hair education. She was professional (beautiful salon and ready to start my appointment when I arrived), patient (answered all my questions, let me take notes/pics) and thorough (made product recommendations, showed me technique and sent follow-up instructions and products). I’ve struggled with my curly hair my entire life, and finding a stylist who truly understands curls is no easy task. Jay is an absolute gem. She’s the first stylist I’ve ever felt comfortable telling, “Do whatever you want.” I trust her completely, and she never disappoints — the results are always incredible. Whenever I’m out, someone inevitably compliments my hair, and I owe it all to Jay’s talent. The salon itself is in a fantastic location with plenty of parking, and the space is beautifully designed. The reclining wash stations with footrests are a game changer — especially for curly hair clients who can spend a bit more time at the sink. Every detail makes the experience relaxing and enjoyable.

Another update (9/11/2025): since my last review, I know there have been some changes so I just had to come back. Deep N the Cut has moved to Fairfax and I followed Leyla over there. I am trying to put into words how much I appreciate Leyla’s professionalism. She will not take on a client who is not a fit for her services so your time won’t be wasted. Her skill at cutting and styling natural curly hair still amazes me. I know she offers other services but I’m a coily gal at heart. and Leyla knows how to give me the volume and definition that I love. Leyla is a blessing! Literally, an answer to my prayers. I wanted a hair artist who would educate me on my natural hair and offer different styles that would compliment my face and hair growth patterns. She is an artist and an educator. Her salon is always a peaceful spot to get my hair styled and decompress from the day. Thank you Leyla! 😁
