Darker Image Tanning Salon

I’m extremely disappointed with Darker Image after being a monthly members for over 8 years. Even though we didn’t use our membership often, we kept it to support the local business. Unfortunately, since Manager Kelsey left, the service and integrity of this place have gone downhill. We canceled our memberships back in August when we moved, gave them the required 30 days, and they still continued charging us. When I called to get it resolved, I was told I’d have to wait until next Tuesday to speak to the manager. That’s unacceptable. I asked for the owner to contact me, and the girl, I was talking to said she was going to text the owner my contact information and I haven’t heard back. That’s how much they value their customers. I used to love this place. With the manager Kelsey. Now the new manager, prob in here early 20s is the one in charge. Her personality kills this place. She is not friendly. Doesn’t say hi. I come in all the time and she just asks name.. each time. I’ve even complimented her before. Nothing. I plan on canceling and going to another salon. The other girls are great. Once I did the spray tan and she didn’t even tell me to use barrier cream, luckily I knew. But in her job you should let people know how to use it. Overall just makes it an uneasy place now.

I have been a regular at The Darker Image tanning salon and have always appreciated their services, particularly the spray tans. However, my recent experience has left me feeling quite disappointed. First, the price increase from $30 to $40 took me by surprise, especially since there was no prior notice to clients. This is a significant hike and it certainly affects the value I feel I am getting. For $40, I expect a higher standard of cleanliness and service. Speaking of cleanliness, I was very disappointed to find that the Versa tanning booth was not well maintained. The rug inside the booth always looks dirty, but today I noticed leaves inside the Versa, which is unacceptable for a salon that charges this much. The staff is kind and friendly. When I went in asking questions as a new custom, there was an incident with an entitled customer who treated the young lady at the desk very inappropriately rude as he skipped ahead of quite a few people as "he was on a hurry." She handled him like a pro and was never triggered by his condescending demands. She remaind calm and smiled kindly while she helped him. She was in a difficult situation and did a great job managing the multiple customers in the waiting area. Kudos to the employee and to salon for hiring a great worker. She knew her stuff and understood what was best for me. I'm definitely glad I went there.

You can't go wrong going here to "George Hamilton" on!! Kelsey and the girls have always treated me great, and if they ever went out of business, I don't know what I would do. A must for anyone who considers themselves of being a "Professional Tanner"!!
