Went for a haircut with no wash today. The stylist I had (Taylor) seemed to misunderstand what I meant when I told her how short I liked the sides of my head shaved (not to the scalp) and ended up going in with no guard on the clipper which is incredibly too short. My sides are completely bald now and I didn’t know how to tell her she did it wrong, this is definitely a life lesson and I should’ve spoken up for myself. After she finished my cut she went to spray water on my curls to make sure everything laid the way I wanted, but picked up the wrong bottle and sprayed rubbing alcohol all over my hair. Other stylists noticed all of this happening and nobody seemed to care or step in. Ended up getting my hair washed even though I didn’t want to. Then she asked if I dry my hair usually to whic

This review is for Arielle. I scheduled a last minute appointment for hair and makeup for my nephew's destination wedding on new years eve in newport. I do not live in newport but I found Curl up and Dye on google and decided to try it. I think I called 2 days before new years eve. Not only did they bend over backwards to fit me in on short notice, but Arielle did a fantastic job! I loved my hair and makeup and it lasted the whole day and into the new year. Arielle was so friendly and nice to work with, listened and gave me exactly what I wanted! One of the best hair and makeup sessions I have ever had! Thank you to the salon and Arielle!

Curl Up and Dye is a fabulous salon and Jill is an exceptionally skilled stylist - a true artist! I started going to Curl up and Dye based on recommendations when I first moved to the island and I could not be more pleased with this classy salon where everyone is professional and super nice. Jill really listens to her clients; she has been managing my color and providing great haircuts for my wavy hair for years. Jill is doing a wonderful job helping me now with my new phase to let myself go gray. She did a phenomenal job with toning my hair for a beautiful, blended color as my gray is growing in. She matched the color perfectly and topped it off with a gorgeous haircut. And on top of Jill’s skills as a stylist and her great personality, she also does so much to support the community.

This review is about Arielle, who did makeup for 5 and hair for 3 at my wedding (please note: some photos are at the end of the night). Arielle did a fantastic job, especially adjusting to what everyone wanted. I’m usually a low-makeup person and I was so happy with it. Arielle even won over my mother in law, who originally said “lashes only, I’ll do my makeup.” But then when she saw my MOTHER’S makeup, she asked for it all. Arielle also stepped up and agreed to do 3 people’s hair a WEEK before the wedding, taking on some challenges (an updo with very little hair, “glam waves”). Throughout the experience she was calm, cheerful, and professional. She worked from 1030-230 with barely a break. I loved this hair salon when I was living in Newport! Nay was always so good to me and I always loved how my hair turned out. She's amazing at cutting, styling, and coloring hair! She is also amazing at fixing bad haircuts. I came to Nay when I got botched by another salon and she fixed my haircut so well. I'm sure everyone is amazing at this hair salon, but Nay was my hair stylist and she always did fantastic work with me! The salon was also affordable on my college budget.
