Jun Jie is hands down the best when it comes to haircuts. I have curly hair, and for years I struggled to find someone who actually understood how to cut and shape it properly. I had an amazing experience at this salon and couldn’t be happier with the result! Junjie was incredibly kind and helpful from the beginning. He carefully listened to what I wanted and helped me book the right colorist for my hair. Since I have very thick and naturally dark hair, the bleaching and coloring process took a long time, but Hannah and Siobhan were extremely patient and professional throughout. They worked layer by layer with great attention to detail, making sure everything was done perfectly. I’ve done both a K-pop pink and a violet color here, and both turned out absolutely beautiful — even better than I imagined! Jun Jie has been cutting my family’s hair for many years, beginning with my son Kendall’s hair that is naturally spiky and stands straight up (very much like June Jie’s). Our haircuts have been complimented by folks at the Galleria, work, coffee shops etc. Once a complete stranger stopped my son at the Galleria to ask what his hair style was called and who did it because he wanted the same! And I receive endless compliments by women at work and strangers in restaurants. It is a true testament to Jun Jie’s artistry and attention to detail because Jun Jie is a true creative talent beginning even before he was a student and graduate of Parsons.

My entire family followed Jun Jie to his new salon because he’s truly excellent. It’s an amazing feeling to put yourself in a hair stylist’s hands and feel completely confident that you’re going to love the result. That’s what Jun Jie brings every time. Additionally, Siobhan has become my new regular colorist and she’s fantastic - thoughtful, attentive, detailed, creative, and thorough. I can’t recommend Concrete and Wood highly enough.

I have been going to Junjie for many years. When we moved away (far away), I would fly back in just to get my hair cut by him. I continue to do this because his precision hair cuts are so good, a "wash and wear" girl like me gets to look like I have effortless style. Bottom line, you will walk out with a perfect haircut. That's worth traveling across the country for me.
