This salon used to be known for prioritizing the health of natural hair — now it’s just a shell of what it once was. I brought my daughter here for what was supposed to be a simple, healthy blowout and trim. I made the appointment with clear instructions: deep condition her natural curls before applying heat. That didn’t happen. Instead, they skipped the treatment and went straight to using excessive heat — and as a result, my daughter’s beautiful, healthy curl pattern is now damaged. When I raised the issue, the manager offered a “comped hydration service,” which did absolutely nothing. Her hair was visibly ruined, which she admitted when I bought her over to my daughter. I hate to be writing this, the stylists are great and the service is good and my hair comes out beautifully when I come here, however, they are not transparent about their pricing. You will book a specific service online assuming one price and then go to check out, and find your total doubled. In this economy, I don’t think that’s fair to your customers. Their practice of pricing every single service individually instead of grouping them together is predatory in my opinion.

I’ve been seeing Diane and a few other great stylists at the salon for over a decade. Diane is absolutely amazing. She is careful with my natural curls as I have been natural for about 4 years now. I legit don’t let anyone else style my natural hair at this point. Diane is amazing for blow out, color, style…anything! She’s worth the $$$$$ every time because I know I’m going to look good every time! If you’re looking for a stylist that won’t disappoint (and if the rare time I’m not satisfied she always works to fix it beyond what is required) I would 100% recommend Diane! Also, her other stylists are great too. Olga and Giselle have honorable mentions because they are exceptional and always put my hair first. I love you all over there at cole stevens!!!

Cole Stevens in Greenbelt, MD is truly one of the best salons in the DMV! I love the care, attention, and beautiful results I received during my visit today with my amazing stylist, Nelly. She’s skilled, attentive, and made me feel completely at ease. I also had the pleasure of seeing the owner, Diane—such an inspiring leader. I have been to this salon a few times and each time is a great experience . I would like to highlight my most recent experience with Carolyn. She exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail, skill, and friendly atmosphere made for a great experience. I had a hydro treatment , trim and Style. She gave me the 90’s Baddies Special 😂 Iykyk. I left feeling confident. She truly understood what was best for my hair and delivered an amazing cut. If you're looking for a professional, talented, and welcoming stylist, I highly recommend Cole Stevens.
