Cece African Hair Braiding

PLEASE GO TO ANOTHER SHOP. I wanted to like this place. I’ve recommended it before. My friend (also African) has been here five times for basic cornrows under a wig (nothing fancy, just convenient and reasonably priced). Today, she was suddenly quoted a higher price with than usually given to her. When she politely pushed back and said that’s not the usual price but she’d still pay the extra $20, the braider argued over her (in French) and kept the owner on speaker who was condescending, and spoke English and French around her while she was trying to complete the payment. They told her to Zelle $60, then changed it and said they’d keep the cash and she should Zelle the rest. No clear communication, no courtesy, and no professionalism. She left upset and in tears. Iesha has been doing my hair for years up in Washington DC when she was working at Fatou on Benning road Southeast. She moved to Richmond VA and I end up moving to Richmond last year and I reached out to her and she's back doing my hair as if I never left. I love the shop everyone is so welcoming and polite. Come to CeCe's if you want some up-to-date braidings twist, knotless, feeder and so much more you won't be disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience at this braiding shop. From the moment I walked in, the energy was off. One of the stylists was literally sleeping and acted like helping me was a burden. When I mentioned the hair color I wanted to use, she was rude and dismissive. The overall attitude was negative and unwelcoming. Eventually, I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. Even then, I had to ask multiple times to get back the hair that I brought with me, which she initially refused to return. Thankfully, she gave it back, but the entire interaction was off-putting. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I believe the energy of the person doing your hair matters, and I would never let someone with such a nasty, negative attitude touch my head.

Cece is one of the best braiders in Richmond! I show her a picture and she makes it a beautiful reality. My only complaint is that my appointment didn’t start on time and I waited over an hour before she arrived.

Worse place to get your hair done at. She didn’t know what she was doing felt like she was playing in my hair and got an attitude with me because i wanted to make sure it looked good and the braids where crooked the gel they use do not hold for thicker hair. When you walk in it have a really strong smell in there. I only have a picture of the front but trust me the back was worse
