Sam is the most meticulous, gifted, patient, talented, and knowledgeable hair stylist I've ever had. I've lived all over the country and have to say that his color mastery and personalized cut and blowout were perfections. He also was very careful to make sure everything he did would nourish my hair, from keratin treatment, to ammonia lift instead of bleach, and avoiding putting me under the lamp. Even when I move back to Los Angeles next year I plan to come back to Charleston just to see him for my hair 💗

I had such an amazing experience! The service was truly 10/10 from start to finish. The environment was welcoming, relaxing, and beautifully maintained — you can tell they really care about their clients’ comfort. My stylist Dyanne was incredibly detailed and took her time to make sure everything was perfect. I never felt rushed, and she made sure I was happy with every step of the process. The best part? I even got a therapeutic head massage during the wash — it was so relaxing and honestly elevated the whole experience. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and absolutely loving my hair. Charli is truly amazing. I am a natural brunette and she does the best job keeping my hair bright blonde while still looking healthy and natural. She always gets the tone just right and I completely trust her with my color. She also did my makeup on my wedding day and I could not have been happier. It was absolutely perfect and lasted all day. Canvas on King has been my favorite barbershop/Salon in Charleston for over a year now. I've tried several places before landing here, and honestly what has kept me has been the high level of customer service, actual quality of the cut, and just how I feel so much better after my cut when leaving. Sam Lawrence is my hair stylist and he's the absolute best! Can pretty much take care of any request I can come up with hair wise. He's often teaching others and helping out any of the artists who may have a question. My hair always grows out perfectly and I never have to return for fixes. He can also fade... Sam just installed extensions, did a full blonde foil and cut for me and my hair has never looked better in my life! I am so picky and particular about my color and cuts and he does such a great job at listening, taking his time, and channeling exactly what I want. It’s so relieving as a blonde to never have damage and in my 3 years seeing him my has gotten healthy and also naturally grew long! He also gives amazing hair care recommendations which is so helpful. All blondes in the Charleston area should book with Sam.
