Today I needed some hair care products for my daughter and myself. I went to Cali's because of their wide range of products. Once I got in there, I was overwhelmed. Immediately I was me with a pleasant smile and great energy by Taliyah. She was able to educate, guide and recommend some great stuff. She really was wonderful to work with. I didn't feel rushed and she truly listened to what my needs were. I will be returning here just to work with her again. She was absolutely awesome! Thank you so much for today, Taliyah! P.S. After friendly discourse, the male Associate at the register advised that the hair I picked could be used for boho braids. I went STRAIGHT to my hair appt and was told in fact it was NOT correct and could NOT be used. The hair stayed in the bag untouched and unopened. I brought it back to the store just over 7 days and he REFUSED to even let me EXCHANGE the item. The day I bought this item, I even created a customer account at the Associates’ advising. What’s the point?! To confidently advise a customer to purchase a product and then not even allow an exchange is POOR customer service. The RIGHT thing to do is say, I’m not sure the type of hair needed and advise of the return/exchange policy. But I trusted HIS advising. Now I have a product that will literally go to the trash. Bad experience today. I was confronted by another customer accusing me of cutting her in line. She walked away from the line with the owner/sales rep to purchase a nose ring. Naturally when someone walks away from being in line, anyone knows that the next person in line should get checked out, unless proper communication happened to inform me that he was helping a customer then checking the same customer out after he attended to them. No such communication happened. The owner grabbed my item to check me out. When the customer saw this, she confronted me about her being in line ahead of me. This caused a minor disagreement between me and the fellow customer. My two friends and I walked in the store yesterday looking for jewelry and lipgloss to purchase. The owner ended up believing we were stealing when we indeed were not we were waiting to purchase the items because our friend used to work there. Instead we left the items at a register and left the store instead of purchasing. We were going back today to pick them up for our outfits but then found out the disappointing news that the owner thought we were stealing and watched the cameras. I’m never visiting this store again. Unwelcome, unfriendly, and discriminating environment. I’ll stick to the beauty store on west Tennessee street. This was only my second time visiting this location in months. And I will definitely not be back. They barely had a variety of items anyways.
