There is an old world feeling to Freddy’s barbershop and his “social welcoming committee”, the group of men who entertain with puns and social observation. Freddy is a master of his craft and has a very warm personality. Yes, another 5 star review. Highly recommend!

Fantastic neighborhood barber with excellent service and fair prices. Fred is an institution in Brookdale, and not only does he provide great haircuts but he also creates a calm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The cuts are on point, the conversations delightful and the interior breathes old school barber shop. It’s always a great pleasure stopping by at Fred’s.

Over the past six years, I have had the honor of authentically relating with Freddie, the barber. During haircuts, Freddie has shown kindness, curiosity, love, and compassion, which is especially important to me as a neurodivergent man. This is in contrast to the majority of barbershops that value profit above all else. As far as Freddie's skills as a barber, they are stellar. Freddie's adeptness at cutting my hair while engaging in witty banter is incredible. I am honored to call Freddie my barber and friend.

Fred is a lovely man and great barber. This was my first time there and he made me feel like an old friend. The space was clean, full of history, and welcoming. Thanks Fred! Be back soon.

Fred is an excellent barber. More importantly he's a great conversationalist and a good listener. There's usually a good representation of Fred's friends and neighbors in the shop to keep the discussion lively on just about any topic. It's best to brush up on world events, national and local politics, and local sports teams before you join in with the back and forth. l have never gone to Brookdale Barbers and not left without a great haircut, a whole lot of laughs, and learning something new.
