was told one price over the phone then something else when I came in person , they told me they started on another girl because I was “taking too long” even though I was there BEFORE my appointment time. I went here before with no problem but after this visit I will not be going anymore. Hopefully others have a better experience
The ONLY reason they got 1 star is because I had to at least give one star to give this statement. If you are looking for a protective hairstyle DO NOT go here. Then they have the nerve to charge $80 for a take down. I will never get my hair braided again because of the experience I had here.
Absolutely worst experience of my life. I paid $250 for small box braids. None of my braids were the same size, parts were not straight whatsoever. The Owner was unprofessional and only cares about money. How you upset because I don’t like my hair that I paid my hard earned money for. I will never in life recommend this business to anyone.
I told the stylist before my appointment that I wanted my braids just past bra length. She quoted me $220. When I got there, they braided my hair down to my butt without asking and still charged me $250. I was annoyed, but let it go because the style looked nice FROM THE FRONT. 5 days later, I noticed the middle of my hair was braided poorly. Hair coming out of each braid different size parting etc. I texted Awa (since that’s how we had been communicating), and she completely ignored my messages. When I called, she said she was busy and would call back—she never did. She later claimed my hair was breaking off, which I don’t believe because I take great care of my hair. She gave me the runaround about fixing it and never followed through. I live in Toledo and made the trip to Detroit expe
I came in at 9:20 AM and didn’t leave until 5:30 PM for small knotless braids waist length. My hair came out nice—much neater than other African braiding shops I’ve been to—but I did have to ask the stylist to redo a braid at the top. Also, my part isn’t exactly in the middle like I wanted. Overall, I’d give it a 7/10. It looks good, just not $250 good.
