Awa’s African Hair Braiding

This is my last time coming here. They quoted me a different price that was $50 different once l got there. They braided too tight. Both ladies keep stopping to eat, drink, to conversate with the other ladies, probably just to think idk. Took longer then expected if it was for all the breaks they did. I thought it would've been quicker if it was two of them on my head well no took just as long. I asked for medium mid back knotless which was quoted over the phone 220 once l got there 270. When l got home l realized my braids is a mixture of box and knotless braids. Smh. Already pissed from the price change, and the multiple breaks. I got there 1043 am and left at 455 pm and 1 hr 15 minute drive back home. Like l said NEVER AGAIN....waste of time, gas and money. 1st time here and deeply regr

Will never go here again!! The braids are too tight and way too much hair that I could barely move my neck/head. The braids would not even move. They did not braid my hair the way I asked and it cost way too much for some box braids and they pull on your head while braiding. I was in so much pain that I contemplated taking them out the same day I got it done. My family even paid and had someone else come over the same night to take out the middle section of the braids and redo them because it was not how it was supposed to be I and was going out of town. They wanted me to enjoy myself. You should've seen how much hair was just in the middle section, no wonder I couldn't move my neck. They shouldn't have even had to pay someone else to do this. Yesterday i walked in there at 6:13 PM and I wanted the hairstyle shown in the picture. The problem was, I had just got scammed out of a security deposit for this same hairstyle. They worked with me. I have been going to them for 15 years since I was 18. Well, 18 years cause i'm 36 so yeah, they will always be my go to. This style took about 5hrs. I brought my own hair. I am more than satisfied with the service and style.

Came in to literally get two feed in braids and they barely lasted 3 days. Very poorly done, not laid or tucked properly and the braids were uneven. $40 just gone to waste. I’ve definitely had better in the past coming to Awa’s when they had their previous workers there. They did a way better job.

They cost too much but don't have all the different type of hair you want. Soda was humble but now has a "big head". She is never available and don't make time. They quote you different type of price at once and it can be me and another person getting the samething but paying a different pay. It's always someone new that is learning and they just throw them on your head. It's just crazy how much they charge but you the one that needs to accommodate them. It's the lack of customer service for me and then all the kids they bring to work.
