Authentic Styles Salon & African braid

I would not recommend this braid shop. I paid $335 for SHMEDIUM braids and the only reason I even gave 1 star is because the braids themselves are neat. However, they were so tight It made little bumps on my perimeters and my scalp “wrinkle”. Also, the combs weren’t sanitized between customers. I woke in the morning with a burning scalp, white buildup, and red spots. And yes, my hair was thoroughly washed and stretched the night before my appointment. The size of the boxes on my head are also extremely inconsistent, with some actually being shmedium and then whole rows of ones that are rather large as u can see. For that price, absolutely ridiculous. Would not recomment

The service I received was amazing , 4 women working on my head at one point . No tension at all & spent about 5 hrs for small knotless & honestly I’m soooo in love with my hair . The ladies helped me pick a color that matches my hair perfectly . I will be returning !

First I have to say...I really like the owner, she is usually engaged, present and attentive. That being said this is the 2nd incident I am having with poor application. HOWEVER, for this specific incident I had my hair braided with boho on 10/2/25. my hair was gorgeous. I flew out on vacation 10/6/25. My hair was in my bonnet until I left. The boho pieces to my hair were LITERALLY flying off in the wind and floating in the water. I purchased the human blend, but the braider only fed in about 2-4 inches while braiding. I was so upset I text the owner while I was on vacation, when she didn't respond I text again on 10/13. Best braiding salon in Orlando! The team at Authentic Styles Salon & Barbershop is very professional and skilled. They took their time to make sure my hair looked exactly how I wanted. The shop is open late which is super convenient for busy schedules. I will definitely be coming back!

I had such a great experience at this salon! The pricing was completely upfront—no surprises or hidden costs, which I really appreciated. The communication from start to finish was excellent; The stylist delivered exactly the look I asked for, (its even better than what I pictured) and I walked out feeling confident and refreshed. Highly recommend for anyone who values honesty, skill, and great service!
