Alawe 24hrs Harlem African Braiding Shop

I requested to come at 8pm, and they asked me to come at 5pm due to Ramadan. No problem. I left work early , commuted and hour, then at 4:59pm arrived in a small, cluttered, disorganized shop with no braiders available. I was not greeted or even acknowledged when I walked in. I asked them if there were any braiders available to do my hair, and there werent any. They requested that I call the owner, who said that she would arrive. I left after waiting for about half an hour with no updates. The braider who was working on another woman's head was having a LOUD conversation on speaker phone in a different language. I'm glad I left, because there's no way that I could've tolerated that over my head for 5+ hours. Avoid if you value your time and any semblance of decent customer service .

I needed me and my daughter’s hair done on short notice and Any style 24 hour Harlem African Braiding came to the rescue. We arrived a little after 10pm and my daughter’s hair was done by 1:30…I finished shortly after. The owner, Nana, is sweet as pie and very accommodating. The ladies that braid are very nice as well. The shop is clean and not overcrowded…overall, great experience…I will come back for sure.

I walked in at 10am for knotless style. Penda (I hope I’m saying her name correct) ate down on my hair. Parts were perfect. She even made sure my middle part was middling. She was respectful, quick, efficient, and the environment was comfortable. I was out her chair by 130. I will be back.

Don’t go here the staff is so rude! The owner’s daughter is disgusting! The son was rude as well ! I think they could tell that I was not from the area and I was not familiar with pricing, but this place was recommended to me by someone who gets Bora Bora braid. I live an hour and some change away. I was dropped off by my husband. I thought the experience would be better, but as soon as I walked in the door, you can feel the daughter‘s energy. She is so disgusting. I was so upset at the experience and I noticed that with other people they negotiated prices and when it came down for me to ask the price, they were trying to get me. so the son told me that if I don’t like it, I can leave. I would absolutely never go back here again. I wanted a simple 9 braid stitch style going back into two buns… I showed her wanted (the last two pictures I posted is what I wanted) and she did not execute. I told her the braids were too big and she was missing a braid. I had hair sticking out all over and on one side a piece of hair was not braided in. When she first did the buns it was uneven and I suggested she just make it into one bun. Once I got home and took the bun out I realized all the braids were different sizes and lengths. I will attach the first two pictures what they did and then I will post (last two pictures) what I asked for.
