Dr Roland Kufuuma’s shockwave therapy treatments were a game-changer for my shoulder with calcific tendinosis. I had seen two different PTs in Longmont over 4 and 9 months respectively, and while the exercises helped strengthen the shoulder, pain relief was either minimal or intermittent. Especially overhead lifts and arm resting on center console in car, hitting bumps was painful. I have now gone to 5 sessions for ESWT (over just a few weeks) and the pain-free range of motion for the shoulder has improved immensely - absolutely eye-opening, and way more effective than PT alone. I can now do overhead lifts (still carefully since not 100% yet). I’m bummed this treatment wasn’t recommended earlier by other docs. As an elite Masters Track and Field athlete, it is important to have all cylinders firing perfectly! With that comes great flexibility. In having Osgood-Schlatter disease (OSD) as a child and possibly now a meniscus tear those type of ailments may shorten my career.
