Absolute Shear Magic Styling Salon

After reading some recently written reviews, I was flabbergasted by what was alleged and stated... I understand that growing, having and nurturing a new-born is and can be extremely taxing and stressful, both physically and mentally. Not only do my children, spouse and myself LOVE the atmosphere of this salon, but fully trust each of the stylists completely. Doing a full shampoo AFTER thinning is customary due to wanting to wash away all the cut hair before starting the actual hair cut. I have found ALL the stylists here very professional, loving and kind, often joking with their long term clients. I have found MY FAMILY'S SALON and stylists! I FULLY AGREE, that once you find a stylist you like and enjoy and TRUST, you should be forward thinking enough to schedule needed hair treatments

I have had a couple of months to think about my experience here and I feel the need to share. I was leaving the country and desperate for a haircut before I left and I found Shear Magic was open on Sunday and the prices are extremely cheap (should have seen that as foreshadowing) and so I went. I walked in and she was finishing up a client. I believe it was the owner. She was very nice. I asked for a butterfly cut, with face framing layers, and keep the length. What I left with was barely acceptable but absolutely not what I asked for and that was after asking her to correct it. There was no less than 5-6 inches cut off my hair (NOT keeping the length) and this was after she thinned my hair so much that it looked like a medium sized dog was sitting on the floor next to me. I wondered how I would write this. So, by error, the stylist made one side longer than the other and did a strange snip at the end which made some unexplainable strands on one side. I probably wouldn't have written anything except when I went back to get it fixed, I got in a slight argument with the new stylist, who seemed rude. The first stylist did so few snips, I swear, Great Clips could probably have done just as well. The second lady, instead of wetting my hair thorouglhy in the sink, used a spray bottle, neglecting to dampen the top. So for two trips, maybe 20 snips and fourty dollars, I know this will not be my go to place, as I am a new comer to the area.

Took my 93 yr old mom there. They were wonderful! And her hair looks great! Reasonable prices but the real plus was the care and attention they gave my mom! She has an appt every Saturday!

Great place to get salon services! Friendly atmosphere. Fantastic stylists.
