Zen Spa

I had one of the absolute best massages ever at this place. I got the 90 minute regular massage. The facility itself is very nice and clean. There was nice spa music playing. The room itself was spacious. Had a comfortable warm massage table. Communication was not an issue for me.

I recently visited this location for a massage. The massage itself was decent, but the overall experience was quite basic, no music, no heated bed, and little atmosphere to help with relaxation. The language barrier was very difficult too, although that doesn’t bother me. What really stood out, unfortunately, was the request for a higher tip even though I had already paid in cash and provided a 20% tip (also in cash) which I consider more than fair. I’ve never encountered that before, and it made the end of the visit very uncomfortable and will never return or refer them! If the tip isn’t enough then they need to increase their prices. Yikes!!

A few weeks ago, I had an amazing and professional deep massage with Lily; she had great technique and intuition. However, she's no longer there...so when I booked again today, I was with another massage therapist... but she did not tell me her name. Unfortunately, today's deep tissue massage was really disappointing. This "massage therapist" mentioned price and tip 4 times before starting the massage, then proceeded without any technique, nails dug into my skin at times, and for a 60 minute massage she only massaged one side of my body. I asked if we could do 90 minutes because I at least wanted both sides of my body massaged..I shouldnt have, but I felt maybe I would feel better. Again, she mentioned price and tip 3 time before starting...the remaining 30 minutes was not worth it, again

Want to go to the best massage place in southern Maine? Go to the Zen Spa. I have an issue with my left shoulder and right knee and hip, and the pain is now GONE! They will ask if you want hard pressure, and I opted for medium in general and hard for my painful shoulder. I've seen other reviews mentioning language barrier issues, but I didn't have a problem as long as I didn't try idle chit chat. I believe they use traditional Chinese massage techniques, which i personally tend to prefer. Bella asked me throughout if I was ok with the pressure and the heat of the stones, etc. She's the best! I've been there once before and had a different therapist who did things slightly differently, but it was still fantastic. My visit was amazing. I booked this after a long stressful year and she masterfully extracted tension held all throughout my body. My cells feel renewed! Also, the place is very clean and staff is friendly.
