Customer Reviews
This barber is great. No nonsense. Love how he is just about getting the job done. I live in Oakland and go to his shop. Love it.
Been here a few times over the years but this will definitely be the last. Did not listen to what I asked at all. I was the only customer in the shop yet the process was careless and rushed. My neck took the brunt of the damage: several cuts. Piece of advice: do not wear your favorite shirt - there will be blood. All around the haircut was not what I asked for. I would’ve been better off buzzing it in the bathroom mirror. On the positive side, the conversation was decent, and I suddenly have a newfound appreciation for hats. Regrettable experience.
A solid barber and a helluva person. Matt's a cynic through and through, so don't expect a warm and cheery experience. He won't sell you a sugary facade, but he will sell you a damn fine haircut and a genuine conversation. Oddz are decent that you'll get a few extra grumbles free of charge. 10/10
Avoid Wolf's Den Barbershop at All Costs! This is by far the worst barbershop experience I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. Disrespectful and Hostile: From the very beginning, the owner displayed nothing but hostility. When I called to confirm they were open, he answered the phone with a rude tone and then hung up on me after a sarcastic remark about him already being on the phone. Walking in, I tried to make friendly conversation, only to be met with a curt "Shut up and get in the chair." Zero Compassion for Veterans: When I politely requested a bit of extra patience due to being a disabled veteran injured in Iraq and about to start a new job helping veterans with PTSD, the owner completely snapped. He started yelling obscenities, telling me to "get the F out of his shop"
Great cut, great price. No frills. Editing after reading one star reviews: First off, this is a one chair, one barber, shop. To answer the phone takes time and attention away from the person in the chair. The only time I've made an appointment was during Covid and the only times I've waited more than 15 minutes for the chair, there were already 2-3 people waiting during peak hours. If you are planning to go in the last hour of his posted day, maybe give a call to check he's not dipping out early on a slow day to take the long way home on his bike, otherwise it's all first come first serve. Don't interrupt if you don't need to. The first time I went here for a haircut I asked for a popular "in" haircut, and was told flat out that that haircut wasn't something he didn't wanted to try t
