Victory Hair Salon

In September, I visited Victory Salon to achieve the hair color I have desired for approximately eight years. My hair has red undertones, and when it oxidizes after a few weeks following highlights, the red becomes more prominent. I was quite displeased with the red tones and had previously requested my former hair stylist at another salon to eliminate them, but she was unable to do so. Upon arriving at Victory Salon, I consulted with Alma Victor, the owner. After my initial cut, color, highlights, lowlights, and blow-dry, the red tones were completely removed. Remarkably, they did not reappear even after several weeks. I have been overjoyed as my hair color is finally what I have always wanted! I love Victory salon, formerly known as “Staynd” in Maplewood. The stylists are friendly, professional and reasonably priced for services, and it has a real small town/hometown feel while still delivering high-quality salon services you might find in a big city. Alma Victor, the owner, is a highly trained colorist, and sought after for her expertise. She also ensures that her staff has the same style of training through one of the large color companies – I think it’s L’Oreal - and she until recently (pre COVID-19 times) took them on in person development trips to improve their skill set. I can personally recommend Phillip Ferroni if you have curly hair that needs careful consideration (he also does great color work), or Cindy if you like the style of dry cutting, at which she is an expert.

Been seeing Aura since 2018 when she first helped me on my natural hair journey! From perfect curly cuts to styling product consultations I truly follow Aura wherever she goes. My hair health and natural curl pattern has been transformed and I can’t imagine letting anyone else touch my hair. For my natural girls— her blow outs are also super gentle and preserve your curl pattern which I love during colder months.

I’ve always had a pleasant experience at this salon. My blowouts with Aura never fail to come out beautiful and they last for days! My appointments are usually later in the afternoon but I never feel rushed even though I’m often the last service of the day. She makes me feel comfortable from start to finish!
