Every time I have gone to this brand new big beautiful warehouse of a hair store I'm always watched very closely for some reason but not even when I have a book bag or is any kind of bag for one secondly I went in there just today and had to verbally check one of thi employees some new black girl is working in there I don't know her name her and her boyfriend I believe her hair wasn't even done how do you work at a hair store and not have your hair laid you look real crazy and the next time I come in there you lose something that I wanted to pay for you going to get cussed out real royally know that I don't appreciate their service just for today whoop there it is.

The store has everything that I was looking for however the prices on all their items are around $4 higher than the other hair stores

If you are a black woman DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!! I’ve went here about 3 times before and never experienced being felt like I was a thief up until recently. The man literally followed me down, matter fact ran down every aisle thinking I was going to run out with their product. My friends mother even said the same thing that the man was following her around as if she was going to steal from them and I thought she was just being paranoid but NO!! Once I realized what was happening I had the sweet black young lady that works there help be get what I was looking for so I can gtfo of their store so they won’t feel like anybody is stealing from them. I love shopping in this awsome beauty supply store. The owner is wonderful and has a pleasant attitude towards employees and customers. I love that the employees and owner greets me every time I shop there. I always have a good vibe when I walk through the door. I love that I can walk around the store peacefully without wondering if I'm being watched like how employees do at other hair stores in New Haven/West Haven areas. They make me feel comfortable especially when we are conversating about different things 😌. I would definitely recommend Urban Beauty Supply to anyone who is looking for different hair products,wigs, accessories for hair and nails.

I am happy to see a store that caters to the diverse women in New Haven. Make up, jewelry and hair care. Nice wide aisles so you are not crowding others while browsing. Staff is very courteous and attentive. I hope they last for a very long time.
