Uno, the Salon

I had a mixed experience here that I feel is important to share. I went in for a walk-in appointment about a year ago, and unfortunately I’m still dealing with the results. The stylist only used a razor to cut my hair and didn’t use scissors at all. As soon as he started, I mentioned that I wanted to keep the fullness of my hair. He acknowledged me, but continued using the razor the entire time. Since then, my hair has been noticeably thinner and hasn’t returned to its original fullness. I used to really enjoy coming to this salon, which makes this especially disappointing and has made me hesitant to return.

Exceeded my expectations! Stephanie did a wonderful job and I will definitely be going back! Professional and comfortable atmosphere!

If you have a disability or want a friendly place to Go this isn’t the place for you! My elderly disabled neighbor was left in tears after being told she wasn’t welcomed back due to her disability! Shame on you Uno’s! Response: She had been coming to your establishment for eight weeks once a week. After leaving a salon for four years with this so called open wound with no issues. At that time know one could take the time to speak to her directly about there concerns? You couldn’t at the least call her and explain it to her. The lack of empathy for someone that is 80+ and struggling to heal. You could have handled this much better.

After a terrible initial experience with one of the stylists, I decided to give Uno another try at the encouragement of the manager, April. She recommended Jeannie who is a new stylist and it was the polar opposite of my 1st visit. She listened, took her time, and made sure I was satisfied with my haircut before I left, which I was. April comp'ed my haircut which was a nice "customer recovery" gesture. I plan to return and would definitely recommend Jeannie! While Jeannie provided a 5-star experience/haircut, need another visit or two before I would bump up overall rating to a 5.

Brought my son in to have his haircut today with Katya. We asked for a clean-up around his ears, and for it to be taken in a little shorter on the top. I sat in the waiting area while he had his hair washed and by the time i went to check on him (no more than 5 minutes later) she had shaved his head well-above his ears with what could not have been longer than a #1 clipper. My jaw dropped, but as i tried to digest the situation (and watch to see if she could remedy it) i mentioned to her that i had no idea she was going to so aggressively shave the sides of his head- she snapped back "well, this is how all the boys want it cut". She proceeded to leave his gorgeous blond hair too long on the top, with hardly any tapering. Long story shirt, he walked out looking like Simple Jack from Trop
