My teens only go to Eileen, who is friendly and does a great job. We've been going to her for several years and my boys have always walked away happy with their cut.

Absolute worst haircut of my life. Lady with the tattoos has no business cutting hair. Pushed me into an upgraded haircut without telling me and then absolutely butchered my hair. Asked for a fade and did not get that. Got a crooked line that was barely even blended let alone could be considered a fade. She took forever cutting it and had the nerve to say my hair was not cooperative. I recommend steering clear of this place. Never going back.

I had a very good experience with one barber, who was professional, efficient, and knew how to translate my poor description into a good cut. However, another barber was hard of hearing and didn't do a very good job of matching my description. I believe that the best barber working here is always in the farthest chair from the front door (that's his assigned booth). For $14, he does a fantastic job.

The short lady with blonde hair and sleeve tattoos should not be cutting hair. She was kind of odd and making strange conversation the entire time with me. I asked for a fade and and she left it way too thick on the back of my head. It looks very uneven. I am going to Colin's Barbershop so they can fix it.

GREAT local spot to get a haircut, and the least expensive in all of SLO by far (I called around) -- but that doesn't mean it's without value: I got my hair cut by Bob, who was so sweet, soft-spoken, and meticulous. In a handful of instances, I've taken pictures of my haircut so that I can show future barbers as an example for what I'm looking for; it'd been 5 years, and I took a whole bunch after this appointment - Bob's haircut was flawless. I'm making University Barber Shop my staple for as long as we're in SLO. $20 for a basic cut (CASH ONLY!) - you'll have a hard time finding a place that's a better deal for a great haircut in SLO.
