So I made an appointment for my daughter haircut first time there because I saw they do the stencils. So I made the appointment for 11:30 am, l got there on time, I wasn’t greeted. There was two stylist with clients, both didn’t acknowledge me, so I waited about 15 minutes or more. When one of the stylist asked me my name and then told me that the stylist I scheduled which was Jolene is almost done. So I understand my appointment was 30 minutes she asked if my daughter wanted her hair wash I said yes and then I asked her if she could do the stencils. I understand she was accommodating with what I was asking for because I wasn’t given the option to put it when I made the appointment. I am writing this review based on numerous consistently poor experiences at this Ulta location, culminating in a deeply disappointing interaction I witnessed yesterday during checkout. I want to emphasize that due to the consistently off-putting and unpleasant service here, I have already chosen to take my business to the Petaluma location or anywhere else actually. Which is unfortunate, because I literally live down the street from this location. As someone with over nine years of experience in customer service and retail management, I found the behavior displayed by the checkout staff to be genuinely alarming and reflective of a significant management failure regarding staff training and culture. We went in here today and spent over $150... and to be treated as horribly as Jezzel treated us made me never want to return to Ulta ever again. And after coming on here and reading reviews this is obviously a top down problem! The manager obviously does NOT train these people properly in proper customer service. Ridiculous considering how much money we spent there. Do better, and learn how to treat your paying customers! I will be filling a complaint with corporate next!

This place is an absolute mess and the customer service is a nightmare. I went in to buy a new skincare product and wanted a recommendation. I could not find a singular person who worked in the building. I walked back to the register to ask for help and there was no one there. I stood around for a minute waiting and the phone was ringing off the hook. No one answered the phone and no one came to help me. I finally just left. The staff and the manager seriously needs to step it up and actually do something like there should have at least been a manager at the register.

Jezzel was so rude and unwelcoming, made me feel really uncomfortable. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but I saw this is not the first time she behaves like this. I will not be coming back to this location in Novato. I work customer service too and I would never have the attitude she had, look for something else if you don’t like working there.
