I really like Ultra, they have the most fresh makeup variety, the service lady who waited on sister was polite, helpful, caring and attentive when she did my sister's facial The cashier who waited on us was very kind and friendly. The atmosphere was inviting. My daughter and I frequent this store quite a bit when we lived in New Mexico and now since bimeing back in my homeown, I still visit this store even until now.

(1/15/2026) Edited to change rating from one to three stars. After reaching out to Ulta Guest Services online, communication for a refund was initiated promptly from Kingsport Ulta. (12/4/2025) Really bummed to write this. Got a haircut from Ebony and I thought it just looked choppy/piecey from the finishing product she used, since I don't use those products. Got home, washed it and realized the layers were uneven and cut super deep and the ends weren't straight either. I called ulta the same day to see if I could get a refund and was told by an employee that the salon manager would call me back the next day. I never got a call back. Thankfully, Hairbenders got me in asap and they were able to even everything out. I wish I wasn't out $50 for this.

This location really needs to work on their customer service. First of all, I had a question and a young girl was “helping” me, mid conversation an elderly lady walks up and interrupts us. The young girl did not bother to say “I’m helping another customer, I will be right with you”. Secondly, I was the only person in the checkout line minus one woman that was checking out, another lady comes up to the counter and asks a question, goes and grabs the product, and proceeds to walk through the mini section near the checkout counters and completely skips me. I had been standing in line for about 5 minutes at this point. The cashier had no decency to say anything about me waiting for longer and checked the lady out anyways. Originally I went into the Ulta at the mall in Johnson City for a foundation shade match. I was treated as an inconvenience and given the wrong shade. I drove 30 minutes to the Ulta in Kingsport to do a return and attempt to get a shade match. As I started the return process with Gavin, I told him the story and that I was sorry about the return. He immediately offered to help match me and found the perfect shade. He tried several different brands and even found the perfect concealer for me as well. Gavin is literally my makeup angel. He showed me the best ways to apply the products and worked very hard to ensure I got what I needed and was happy.
