Touty's African Hair Braiding

Worst braiding experience in the decades of having my hair braided. Asked for knotless braids, medium size and showed a picture. The young lady assured she was able to accomplish the look. Well, I wear my hair pulled up in a top- bun…could not achieve the look after she was finished. She kept placing the braiding hair in her mouth, as I saw her from my peripheral, I asked her not to as that is unsanitary and nasty. She was persistent on the sly, flipped my phone camera and then she stopped. She kept apply braiding gel to try and hide the frayed hair, then her co worker began to use a lighter behind my head. I felt heat and she burned my hair, immediately asked her not to use fire as she was burning my real hair. My hair is protruding through the braids, parts are like i40, which I asked an

Ms. Touty is exceptional. I was in search of a new stylist in Knoxville. I went to her on many different occasions and every time she exceeded my expectations. Her knowledge and dedication are unmatched. I love the fact that she doesn't engage with you unless you're open to it, and when she does, she makes you feel so comfortable. If I could give 10 stars, I would!!! I highly recommend her service.

I had the worst experience ever! It took around 9 hours to get my hair done the lady doing my hair would stop the take phone calls, and half way through a braid would stop to SCROLL on instagram!! She dealt with my head roughly not caring even when it hurt so bad I cried! And on top of all of that because of how tight she pulled on my head I have traction alopecia (which means I have hair loss, and sore/inflamed bumps on the side of my head.) wish I could give this place 0 stars!!!

My bestfriend got micros she asked for wavy hair they told her to do straight hair. My friend is a licensed braider and would never let a client walk out like this. We called today and she had a attitude basically saying to flat iron her hair. My friend doesnt put heat as she is natural...this was a waste of 150 dollars. She literally has a afro with strands of straight hair throughout her head. She cant wear her hair down.

I have been getting my hair done here, at Touty’s African Hair Braiding, for the past 20 years. I’ve had Micros, Senegal Twists, Kinky Twists, Box Braids, and a few other styles. I do not plan on going anywhere else to get my hair done. Reason being is because I don’t feel the need to. I have never had an issue with any of the services that were provided to me. Touty, as well as, the other stylists incorporate a variety of different hair styles. You ask about it….More than likely they can do it. The staff is very friendly and do an exceptional job on a daily basis. It provides services to people of all ages, ranging from a little kid to the elderly. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. And I want to say “Thank you for all you do yto Touty and her Staff”
