10/10 — Gaby is the stylist you want in your life. I went from blonde to brunette with Gaby, and she absolutely nailed it.... the bangs, the color, everything. She makes the whole process feel easy, and she always makes me comfortable in her chair. She’s even taken me last minute for a wash, cut, and style, and I leave loving my hair every single time. Her prices are the best in town, and her knowledge is insane. She really understands hair — color, texture, tone, and what’s healthy for it. That kind of skill plus her calm, kind personality is rare. I don’t let many people touch my hair, but Gaby made it easy to trust her. I had a stylist yell at me for having my feet crossed and when I accidentally did it again she got even more mad lol. If you can’t trim someone’s hair with their damn feet crossed maybe you shouldn’t be charging almost $400 for a balayage trim and blow dry. literally never had that experience anywhere else she was rushed and seemed just annoyed with my existence . Extremely over priced for mediocre quality been here 3x and felt uncomfortable every time I spent so much money to just get bullied and fried hair.

I’ve been suffering from ‘blonde blindness’ for years — I went dark for a while, but wanted a change. Gabriella at To Dye For in Modesto absolutely nailed it. She brightened my hair beautifully without taking me too blonde, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. She’s amazing with grey coverage, and she’s also one of the few stylists who still does perms. On top of that, she assists the owner, who is incredibly skilled, so you know you’re in good hands. Gabriella recommended great products too — including Davines, which not many people know about — and that alone says a lot about her knowledge. I came for a walk in appointment for a trim and wanted to get layers, almost shag like so I was assigned to Dani, and I specifically said I wanted to cut off 3 inches or so and have no bangs, so I can tuck my hair behind my ears. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and specifically asked from it that i can keep the long strands in the front so I can keep it tucked behind my ears to open my face up. But she ended up giving me bangs straight across my face that I’m having a hard time covering. but my hair is so short now with about more than 3 inches cut off and bangs which isn’t what I intended to have. Very disappointed with my stylist, Trevena. She takes forever to respond to any text messages (I fully believe in work/life balance, but I'm talking about multiple days worth of not responding. And not just on weekends.) I saw her once before a few months ago to get my roots retouched and toned and she did great. My hair turned out pretty grey, which I didn't prefer, but I told her I wanted a silvery white blonde, so I guess she gave me what I asked her. We had discussed my budget and settled on $150 for the services. At the end of my appointment I told her my hair looked great (it did) and she said she could continue doing my hair for $150.
