Beware...Gannett Newspaper charged my credit card for a renewal well before my subscription expired. No notice. When I called to tell them I didn't want to extend the subscription, they suspended my account and said they would reverse the charge and send me an email confirmation. Neither happened. I called back and was told to wait another 10 days for the credit to process. I waited and no credit. Just finished reporting the charge to my bank as an unauthorized charge. Shady business practices from the newspaper's parent company.

UPDATE: After sending multiple emails and trying to reach them through social media, a customer service person took care of the issue. They have since corrected the problem in their system and have extended the paper delivery by a month for all the trouble I went through. This newspaper has the worst customer service. I have now spoken with 3 people, the last one a supposed supervisor. After I was on hold for 37 to reach him, he told me his system was down and that I had to call back. Unacceptable. I am now waiting for a supervisor to call me back. We ordered a 13-week subscription and they stopped it early. Was told that a $4.95 activation fee was deducted from the fee we paid. What?! I have lived in many places in this wonderful country of ours, and in just about every city that I have lived, I have subscribed to the local newspaper, in that area. Hendersonville is no exception, but I have never had the service , or lack there of, as I have from the Times-News of Hendersonville. The delivery is spotty at best and customer service is non existent. You pay for a service you rarely get and when you try to call and find out what the problem is, you always get the same speech, that they will definitely take care of your problem and it will not happen again. But guess what? It's like your complaint has fallen on deaf ears. The very same problem continues to happen and nothing gets done. Save your money and find another way to get your news. I am 72 years old and like to read in print. This is the worst newspaper I have ever read. They have no sports section what so ever. Two days to get scores if then. No baseball coverage. Three useless Pages. The main section is half full page ads. Today no delivery. I wish Citizen-Times would return to area! Will cancel again soon and for the last time. Please let someone else have paper here in Hendersonville or quit so Asheville's paper can expand here.I

I prepaid for a year of home delivery of the Hendersonville Times News. They have failed to deliver for the past 3 days. Their customer service agents are apparently in India and work with all the Gannett newspapers. They have been no help at all. They also refuse to provide me with the name and contact information for the Henderson County circulation manager. Update: the paper started after about 4.missed deliveries. I put up a sign on my neighbors mailbox directing him to my mailbox as well.
