5 stars for the resort overall. Fantastic location, cool views, nice clean room, well kept grounds, pool and hot tubs were all in good shape. The restaurant is convenient and very good. All of the employees were very pleasant and helpful, most notably Cruz at the front desk. They have different activities scheduled and we took in a stargazing/astronomy talk. We would definitely return. The reason for 4 stars was our experience at the spa. My wife made a reservation for a massage months ago, filled out the preference forms the day before and got a confirmation. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Alison at the front desk things were off to a great start! We were in town for a birthday and she made us feel so special and taken care of including some surprise birthday treats and making sure we were staying in the best possible room to fit our needs. We even got recommendations and well wishes from a nice gentleman from the corporate offices, John! The entire hotel staff were both kind and accommodating including Robert, who was in charge of all the activities that took place at the hotel. This property is listed as a 4-star hotel, but in my experience it does not offer 4-star comfort or amenities. On the positive side, we stayed in the Suncatcher King room with a fireplace, which was spacious, and the fireplace added a nice, warm touch. We also had a good view of the Capitol vortex from our room, which was enjoyable. The hotel was priced slightly lower than other Sedona resorts advertised as 4-star and was part of the Amex Hotel Collection, which is ultimately why we chose it. Beyond that, the experience felt very much like a mid-range hotel. There is no pleasant space to grab a coffee or quick snack on site. The hotel restaurant has a very limited menu and seating. Very clean room, the most comfortable bed I had in Arizona, nice location, steam room was great. Breakfast at Mascal not worth the price, just okay. Downside: the front desk female not welcoming, doesn’t even greet or acknowledge me when I entered the lobby. You have to start the conversation. She looks like she doesn’t want to be bothered or doesn’t want to be there. Other than that, I will definitely stay here again. Hoping they train front desk female staff with good customer service and hospitality. Thank you.

TLDR: Found bedbug in our room at midnight, and management ignored all communication and handled it awfully. We stayed at The Wilde Resort on this week. On 2/8 at around 1:00 AM we found what appeared to be a bedbug on the pillow. We contacted the front desk immediately and requested a room change, which happened in the middle of the night. We couldn’t fall asleep that night and had to check every corner of the room at midnight, and it literally ruined our plan the other day. What made this worse was the follow-up: the next day there was no proactive outreach, and after we returned home we emailed the hotel twice with clear photos showing the insect requesting an explanation and follow-ups.
