Built in 1923 as a mortuary, the Omaha Star Building become home to the Omaha Star newspaper when it was founded in 1938. Since then its been home to a LOT of North Omaha history, including hosting the DePorres Club, a civil rights group, and much more. In 2008, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and today its a vital institution in Omaha.

They offer printing and publishing services for books flyers and more. They can create a QR code for you. You can write an article to be featured in the paper. And of course they are the oldest black business in Omaha! So much history. Go visit and check it out!

This newspaper has been around for many many years. The original owner was a wonderful woman. I did a lot of business with her in the 60s and 70s. I will never forget her kindness and the efficient way she ran that paper. This is a great asset to Omaha.

I went there for the Malcolm X birthday celebration. They had his speeches playing in the background, and served cupcakes, and gave out free copies of their newspaper. I had great conversations with the editor and other guests present for the celebration.
