The Nailery

First time trying this nail salon. I'm constantly in this neighborhood so I was in search of a good quality salon to which I could pledge my loyalty and money to. The salon is open, bright, and clean. They have a bench for you to wait at but upon observation these ladies don't want to make you wait even if you insist you can. They take walk-in's but prefer if you make an appointment. You can even call an hour ahead for your appointment. I went two days before thanksgiving to initially inquire about their prices. After the sticker shock wore off they said I can make an appointment and I said I'd arrive about an hour later. I waited maybe 2 minutes after letting them know I had an appointment and was seated to do the pedicure first. They line the foot tubs and they have massage chairs which

I booked a basic pedicure and really expected a standard experience but the nail tech (I wish I remembered her name) ended up cutting into my nail bed and a day later my nail area feels sensitive. I had broken my big toe nail on the corner and when this has happened in the past, usually the nail tech will ask whether it’s okay that it’s not perfectly square to preserve the nail bed (and I always say yes). Yesterday she didn’t say anything and I looked down bc it hurt and she had already cut and filed down to the shortest part of where it had broken (aka into my nail bed). The worst part is that then she cut the other big toe even shorter to match? So now both toes feel sensitive when I wear socks :/ I won’t be returning unfortunately.

I have been coming to this spot, consistently for 4 years now, and these ladies definitely take care of me! I’m always super happy with my gel manicures and classic pedicures. And they have excellent massages. Coco and Ally revive my shoulder and neck pain every time I visit. They have the widest selection of gel colors and high quality brands of gel nail polish I have come across in the Park Slope area. I know this place is a little bit more costly compared to some other spots, but I pledge my loyalty to them because of their cleanliness, exceptional service, rewards program, and their wonderful staff of ladies. Looking forward to continuing my relationship with this spot. 💖

Absolutely a waste of time and money. I called ahead to confirm they do gel extensions, and was told yes. When I arrived, the staff seemed confused and spoke to me with a disrespectful tone. I was polite and simply asked if they could do a fade or cat eye design , something I’ve had done many times elsewhere. They refused. When I settled for just a fade and even showed an example from their own Google reviews, they then told me they can’t do extensions- it will take more time, but will do only gels. I’ve never heard of that distinction, why get gels if you can’t extend the nails? In the end, I wasted 40 minutes, left with no service, and felt the staff was both rude and unprofessional. On top of that, their prices are extremely high for people who clearly don’t know what they’re doing. I

Excellent service, SO serene and peaceful inside! Always feel like I’m taken care of really well, and my nails are perfect. Really love this place, and come from a different neighborhood out of my way to get my mani pedis!
