The Hot House

We visited Hothouse in Lansing and booked a VIP hot tub room expecting a clean, safe relaxation experience. What we encountered was deeply concerning from a health standpoint. The hot tub water was warm and visibly dirty, with floating debris and buildup, indicating poor filtration and inadequate water treatment between guests. In warm, shared water environments, this creates a serious risk for bacterial growth and waterborne illness. The surrounding seating and structure appeared poorly maintained, with stained, worn surfaces that are in constant contact with water and moisture. The overall setup made it clear there is little effective way to properly clean or sanitize these areas to an acceptable standard. We have been to the Hot House many times over the last 12 years. The tubs are clean and there have been some recent updates to the interior. There is quite a bit of maintenance that needs to be caught up on.

I want to give this five stars because having this option when I’m in chronic pain is amazing. But WHY do you tell people to shower before and after and provide NO hot water in any shower!? I’ve been in 4 different rooms, tonight I was in the suite, not even hot water in the sink.

I went here for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised! The VIP suite was cleaned excellently, and we had a lot of fun. The only downside was that the shower didn’t warm up well. I’d definitely return here, though!

It was nice,the jets are at the low back,would have been nice, considering the price,to have a set of jets aimed at the shoulder as well
