The Honors College EdgeLab

The Edgelab is a great creators space that has given me the chance to make very high quality personal projects! The variety of creative mediums you can pursue is quite vast, including: music, 3D printing, embroidery, wood cutting, and electronics! What makes the Edgelab truly special are the people, they are some of the most inviting and well informed individuals you will ever meet! They always have an answer to any question I have and have given me insight into whatever I am interested in learning about! They are extremely helpful, friendly, and truly welcoming to anyone interested in learning something new! :)

As a student who has spent hundreds of hours at the edgelab, I can vouch for the excellent resources available and the initiative volunteers at the lab have. From music equipment to laser cutters and 3D printers, the edgelab has it all. New members are always encouraged to learn about equipment in the lab and there’s nothing like helping see a project into fruition. I would recommend volunteering at the lab to any FIU student.

Fun space for nerds to study and get laser cutting and soldering done. I pass the time between my classes studying in there. They also have lots of woodworking tools that I don’t have at home.

I was introduced to this lab by one of the staff after he saw me reading a DnD book. Very professional in terms of customer service and excellent vibes overall
