The Formulation Bar

This is the only place you need to go to make your own custom gloss! This was such a fun experience and I had no idea I’d love it so much. It also wasn’t hard at all, I loved the streamlined process. They have a great team here. The owner Chanel was great to communicate with beforehand. She had timely responses, answered all my questions, and was very accommodating. She’s also a Cosmetic Chemist, so she knows her stuff! Madison was our instructor and wow, everyone loved her. She had great energy, knew the pigments and process like the back of her hand, and anytime someone showed her a picture of how they wanted their gloss to look like, she knew immediately what they should add to get it there. This was a really fun experience and the hosts are super nice! The reason for my three stars is because $65 is fairly expensive for the small tube of gloss that we received. I understand that we pay for the experience as well, but I didn’t like the part where they charged yet another $15 to take my “leftover lipgloss“ home with me. I felt like I should keep the gloss that I made without being charged for an additional tube that didn’t even fill up halfway. Outside of that, my sisters and I had a great time there.

10s across the board! 💋 I spent the day at The Formulation Bar making my own gloss and I’m obsessed with how it turned out. The process was so fun and the pigment is everything. Meet my new favorite shade:Cocoa Kiss. Such a vibe for a girls' day or just to treat yourself! Madison was the best!!! Her energy and vibe was amazing and welcoming !

The Formulation Bar is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The space is clean, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully curated. I especially love that this is a Black woman-owned business. Chanel, the owner, was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and patient.
