The Black Lotus Salon

I've been seeing Giselle for almost 3 years and she is wonderful. I drive over an hour to this salon because of how great ive been treated and how beautiful I feel after every visit. Sometimes when I don't want to talk, I dont feel awkward about not chatting. I work in a job where I have to constantly talk, so its nice to just and relax and not have to feel pressured to chit chat all the time. I've had a wide variety of hairstyles ranging from fashion color to most recently more natural, with each visit being exactly what I want. These ladies care about the integrity of your hair all the while getting you what you asked for.

The salon itself was very nice and so were the people! I was very excited to get my hair done for the first time in 6 years! The visit went well but when I turned around to look at my new hair that I was exited for, I saw black dye alll over my face. Not just my forehead it was on my cheek and neck and side of face. I did take pictures I will try to upload to this review. I told the hairdresser the only thing I did not want was any sort of red hue to my hair and I left with only that. My hair was a natural brown when I went in and now I have orange hair all over my head. This makes me regret getting my hair done and I wish I could go back to my normal hair:( I should have said something about how I didn’t like it but I am a very nervous person so I am saving my money up to go somewhere els

My girlfriend and I went in to get hair cuts. I wanted a simple one/three fade and my face shaved. For one my haircut was uneven and the fade line is very noticeable. After me and my girlfriend explaining to her 4 times that I wanted only the goatee patch left on my face and that I wanted the extra side pieces gone too, we gave up trying to tell her. She still never cut them. She left the long pieces on the neck in patches, some pieces on the face weren't cut at all. She never got the clippers close enough to my face. It's almost as if she was afraid to get too close. $60 before a tip is too expensive for a trim and a haircut I had to go home and do myself anyway.

My baby shower is this coming weekend and last minute I thought it would be nice to get my hair cut. On Sunday night I was able to get an appointment for today, Tuesday evening, with Taylor. I showed Taylor the layering and face framing I wanted and she did a great job! I also really appreciated that she didn’t ask me questions the entire time, not that there is anything wrong with hair dressers doing that, however in my work I talk all day and it was nice to just have a service without an expectation to converse! My husband and I are in the process of selling our home and moving about 1.5-2 hours away, however I would highly consider making the drive to come here!

Riley is awesome, definitely suggest seeing her for your hair needs! Great convos, clean salon, staff is nice welcoming to everyone. Overall great place especially for lgbtq peeps.
