Tacoma Curly Salon

I really can’t recommend coming here. I was so excited to go to a curly salon and have my hair cut by people who specialize in curly hair. Supporting local businesses is really important to me too. I asked for a fohawk shape, something more punky. I told the junior and master stylist about my concerns with my bangs (I like them to come down to my eyebrows) and the cowlicks I have on my hairline. I also let them know how I like to style it. The master stylist came over and just started chopping my hair. It felt like she grabbed big fistfuls of it and was chopping away with no care in the world. I had to correct the cut multiple times because one side was longer than the other. I guess they got tired of me trying to fix it cause they put a bunch of product in my hair instead of fixing it

Came here for my daughter's first haircut! Everyone is so nice and friendly, and did great with my shy kiddo. They really play up the haircut making it so fun with bows, rings, and a toy at the end. I booked to come back for my own haircut next week!

Beautiful salon! Feels like family the moment you walk in the door, I got a deep conditioning treatment, that was very relaxing and therapeutic. Leela gave me the best head massage ever! trim and Layers by Jade she did amazing and gave my hair such a nice shape my curls are not being weighed down anymore and I have beautiful ringlets! I’ve already recommended to my friends and family to book an appointment at Tacoma curly salon!

Let me start by saying my actual experience in the salon was pleasant. The hairdressers were very kind, and the environment was very welcoming at first. The services here are not cheap, and I drove well out of my way to come to this salon as no one in my hometown knows how to style my hair texture. I arrived for my 1:30 appointment on time, but didn’t start my appointment till about 15 minutes later. I got a steam treatment and a detox mask, which was very relaxing, and my hair is very soft. The haircut, however- I am not so happy with. I wanted to go a bit shorter, and add some bangs to my cut. She finished the cut and it still wasn’t short enough, so I asked for a bit more off before moving on. She cut some length in the very back, and then didn’t really touch up the sides or front end.

The salon is really nice the art work and plants are pleasant to look at. It was my first time there and I’m always nervous with having people cut my hair especially since I have really curly hair and have had bad experiences. I got the steam treatment and a cut. While getting the treatment and my hair washed they gave me a headed weighted blanket which was very relaxing first time I’ve experienced that and it was really nice. My cut looks great my hair is super bouncy and healthy. I appreciate that there wasn’t a lot of products used in my hair and I wanted my hair to be healthy but didn’t want a huge chop. I didn’t have a voice today and my stylist didn’t try to talk very much to me and I’m assuming it’s because I sound like dark Vader so I wasn’t bothered by that. I’d go again I believe
