Sylvia African Hair Braiding

*Natural hair only/no weave I came in search of "foundation braids" as a protective style for underneath wigs and they did a great job. My braids are neat, not tight and lay perfectly flat. I requested they not add weave to my style so it doesnt become itchy and it was executed well. The price was $50 (w/o tip) which was cheaper than most stylist on Booksy. They have posted signs that say you must tip btw. Shop was clean and welcoming.

Got to the establishment at 12:30 and asked for neck length knotless no boho .. was quoted $200 (I still got the style) . Okay so I sit down it’s time to get the hair , the ladies had an issue finding my hair color (which is a copper color) . They can’t find it so two ladies brought out burgundy hair I said that’s cool because I didn’t want to cause problems. The ladies go to the back to mix it . An older lady very nice pulled out a bag of hair to match my hair which was perfect. Okay so now it’s 1:30 pm the older lady starts my front while another young lady does my back . The young lady in the back rushed and braided my knotless braids to my scalp and when I asked her she tried to say it was a regular knotless which isn’t . I visited Sylvia’s on June 8th, 2024; Becky and Fatima were my stylists for my Senegalese Twists and they both were GREAT!!!! My twists looked amazing! Both ladies were friendly and provided excellent customer service!!!! This was my first time and definitely won’t be my last. (Fatima told me that I would be back & she was right, I will.) 🤩 My twists lasted 2 months. I’m including 3 pictures the first 2 are right after they finished my hair and the 3rd picture is two months later. my sister got her hair done at this place and began at 9 am. she got was french curls and it took until 7:30 pm and was charged 220. if you want to go, be prepared to be there the whole day and possibly over charged

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and never had a bad experience but I’m not happy with my hair I work too hard for my money for my hair to look like it does! I showed the braider Auntie the pic of how I wanted my hair she did what she wanted I got here at 1130 it’s 5 and my hair still isn’t done when I mentioned my hair don’t look like the pic she said I changed my mind after seeing Becky braids which isn’t true I showed the pic and it’s time stamped when I got here my hair looks nothing like that I asked for! I’ve watched ppl get Braided while I’m sitting here and they all looked really nice I am pissed and would like a refund
