Sun Tan City

I’ve been a member at Sun Tan City for a while now and I currently have their most expensive membership. On top of that, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on products in-store over time. Because of that, I honestly expect a basic level of customer service — and unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience. Almost every time I come in, the front desk staff barely acknowledge me. Most of the time there’s no greeting, no smile, nothing welcoming at all. It feels very uncomfortable walking into a place where you’re spending a significant amount of money and being treated like an inconvenience. As someone who works front desk in a salon myself, I understand how important it is to greet clients and create a welcoming environment. That’s why this has been especially disappointing to experience.

Very frustrating experience where the manager did not honor purchased promotional membership through the app. Although photos and receipts were shown I was told "there is nothing we can do, the app is wrong" You should contact customer service I won't be contacting customer service or coming back again. What a horrible tone to set with a new customer.

They have young staff running their Culpeper who is absolutely clueless and should not be in charge of a store by herself! The tanning is good but make sure you get all the details and all the hidden costs because if you’re in this store when the young girl is in there she will charge you like crazy and then cry she “doesn’t know how to do it”. Then the manager Karen says she’ll call you and then ghosts you! When YOU call her (as I had to twice because she didn’t follow through on her promise) she will offer you a free tan to make up for the lousy customer service you received from the stupid employee behind the counter.

Karen is wonderful! I love talking with her when I go in. I go between this store and the one in charlottesville when visiting my family. Everyone needs to know that this place is so clean and organized, and everyone is super friendly & knowledgeable. Make sure you stop in--they all make you feel so welcomed :)

Kendall the Manager and Vivian her assistant would not let me tan after being a member of the tanning salon the past 5 years. I pay every month out of my bank card as a direct debit. I forgot my tanning goggles they would not let me purchase any without my bank card I only had cash. I went and bought goggles from another store and because they wasn't from their store they would not let me get on the tanning bed. I was absolutely disgusted after driving 1 hour to get to the nearest tanning salon. They laughed in my face and found this amusing. I'm a qualified beautician in skin care, I did not find this one bit professional or nice. Customer service 0 out of 10. One looked like she was high on her shift she could barely see out of her eyes. I will never go to this store again. They should b
