Suki African Hair Braiding

I've been going to Suki and her sisters for years, I've brought my family members and even recommended to others who left feeling truly satisfied by the quality of braids. I've tried another salon when I needed a braid and there was no availability and I came right back to her because once you receive this quality braiding, you will never be satisfied anywhere else.

I recently got some long box braids done at Suki’s and I am so happy with the final result! I usually have a friend braid my hair who recently moved, so I was nervous trusting my sensitive scalp with someone else, but they hooked a girl up; I love my new braids! They were super gentle and patient, they parted my hair to perfection, and the handiwork is beautiful. I also get bright colors for my braids and they were really able to make my vision come to life. I feel like a cotton candy goddess. I get compliments on my hair everyday! Will def be going back and recommend them highly!

i went for simple straight back cornrows and had a pretty terrible experience from top to bottom. first, she tried to detangle hair that I had already blown out at home with a fine tooth comb. she kept doing it even though I complained about this. next, the entire time the braider was braiding it too tightly. i repeatedly told her how uncomfortable I was and that I needed her to ease the tension, especially around my edges. I asked her to leave some hair out so it wouldn’t pull too much. I was met with hostility - at one point she told me, “You don’t know how to do hair I know how to do hair,” implying that I was just being overly sensitive and tender headed (I usually am not). I took my braids down after just four weeks and my natural hair is noticeably more brittle and very very thin. t

This review is after having my braids in since late November. The style got better with time. There is no fuzziness of the braids just new growth at the roots. My stylist Suki was so friendly, warm and caring. We talked most of the time during my appointment of medium box braids. She is gentle and good at what she does. I definitely recommend this salon and support of black owned businesses!

This was my first time at this establishment and I have nothing but great things to say. Great quality, professional, and quick! I was a walk in customer looking to receive waist length box braids. I brought my own hair (specific ombré color that I wanted) although they do provide their own hair, I was so surprised to be out of there in just a short four hours! I had two ladies working on my head doing an amazing job, showing me nothing but warmth. I appreciated the compassion and speed that they gave me. I would highly recommend and will be coming back to get my hair braided again.
