Stein's Barber Shop

I was in town to pickup a prescription and had to wait for it. I was in need of a trim and looked for a barbershop. I found Steins on my phone and called. The message said no reservations or credit cards. I thought great so I went. I walked in the front door and there was a gentleman sitting in a chair. He looked me up and down. I asked him if they were open. He said what do you want. I replied just a trim around the edges and my beard. Still sitting down and looking me up and down he replied “I don’t cut unwashed hair or trim beards.” I have been in many barbershops in my life, towns big and small. I have never been meet with so much disdain. I was taken aback. I told him my hair was clean it was just curly. He said he didn’t cut bent hair. I was at a loss for words. I am an American. My

Steins is a real old style barber shop. Got a second haircut a couple weeks ago. They were closed but had a sign on the window to call him and he would come down to the shop and cut my hair. I called and he said he would be there in a couple minutes. He showed up opened up the shop and gave me another excellent haircut! Fantastic customer service and great conversation! My wife was again thoroughly pleased with it! Don't go anywhere else!!

Have been a customer for 15 years. Fran is a great barber, and a very friendly guy. Love his 6 am Saturday hours! Get's you a quick start on the weekend! Always satisfied, and laughing at Steins!

If ZERO was an option, that would be my score. My husband, who is a US citizen and Latino, entered Stein's Barber Shop around 3:30 this afternoon trying to get our son a haircut. The shop hours in the window clearly show they are open until 5. When my husband and son entered the shop the owner looked them up and down, made a nasty face and grumbled that he was closing early because he had a Dr. appt. All this happened before they could even ask for a haircut. When my husband asked him why he hadn't turned the window sign from open to closed the owner clearly responded with "Mind your own business!" My husband and son, rejected and upset, left.
