State Line Barbershop

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE...I was at the UPS store and saw the barbershop and decided I could use a trim of my beard and a haircut. I was never there before and figured I would try it. What a mistake that was. I told him I just wanted a trim and clean it up. I had to take my glasses off so I could not see clearly, and he kept me from looking in the mirror. I am 65 years old. After his second cut with the electric clippers I said there was a lot of hair coming off. He ignored me. He was talking on the phone with 2 people most of the time he was cutting my hair. He trimmed my sides and back down to almost nothing. He gave me a comb over in the back to cover my bald spot (which I never cover) and gave me a big swoop in the front like I'm 25 or 30 years old. Hair is a big part of personal identity and self-expression, and this barbershop completely disregarded that. My nephew simply asked for a trim on his long, curly hair, but the barber refused, claiming it “wouldn’t look good,” and instead gave him a fade he never wanted. If they didn’t know how to deliver the style he requested, they should have been honest about that — not dismiss his request and impose their own opinion. Now he’s stuck with a style that will either grow out awkwardly or require constant upkeep — all because his wishes were ignored. A haircut should empower the client, not take away their choice. I would not recommend this shop to anyone who values their hair as part of their identity.

I do not recommend it when the main priority of a service business is to listen to its client, especially when we are talking about haircut styles that so heavily define a person's personality. During the day, a friend of mine told the barber what he wanted and was not listened to. Instead, they gave him a haircut style without the client's confirmation. It's really a shame that these things happen.

I am very disappointed with our experience at this barbershop. My son went in for a haircut and asked for a specific style he wanted. Instead of listening to him, the barber dismissed his request and told him it “wouldn’t look good.” Without his consent, the barber went ahead and gave him a completely different cut. The result is a haircut my son is very unhappy with, and it has left him very upset one week after school started. A barbershop should respect what the customer asks for, especially when it comes to something as personal as their appearance. Unfortunately, this lack of professionalism and disregard for the customer’s wishes has left us with a terrible experience. We will not be returning.

DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU HAVE MORE THAN AN HOUR TO WAIT. EVEN IF YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!!!! Booked appointment with Daniel, every other week for almost a year. Constantly had to wait upon arrival. Most of the time, up to an HOUR. So I started showing up 10 minutes after appointment time. Last appointment I waited for an HOUR AND 30 MINUTES. Completely unprofessional and no communication whatsoever. Good haircut, terrible time management and customer service.
