Sport Clips Haircuts of Renaissance Village-Durham

I’ve been a customer at Sport Clips on Renaissance Parkway, adjacent to Southpoint Mall for quite some time. Initially, I had two excellent stylists: Michaela and Brianna. Both provided great haircuts, and when Michaela moved on, Brianna kept that quality going. Unfortunately, both eventually left. Only one individual remains to this day that pulls off a consistent, acceptable haircut—the regional manager, Taylor. From there, I defaulted to the manager. While she cut my hair, I shared personal preferences—like how to handle a thinning area—and opened up about turning 40, just as I did with the previous professionals. It took over an hour for my son’s haircut to get done, and it was probably the worst haircut he’s ever had until the colleague of the first stylist stepped in to save the day and clean it up/finish it. The rescue stylist was so very kind to my son, me and the original stylist, and she is the reason for 3 stars instead of 1. My recommendation is for the talented/skilled/aware stylists at this location (there are multiple) to share details of situations like this with management so they can help fix problems like this before they bring the rest of the store down.

No appt necessary but you may have to wait for over 2 hours. Sadly, it appears the stylist working today is flying solo. So, if you like to enjoy a walk-in experience, without the pressure to download an app for impersonal service, and be seen within a reasonable time, I do not recommend Sports Clips. I have used them extensively and each cut has been awesome. However, the wait times and impersonal approach is growing and getting worse. I think this may be my time to exit stage left. Bye bye. Thanks for the time, while it lasted. Oh, and let's see what impersonal canned response this receives.

Aaliyah made my first experience at a Sports Clips, my greatest experience. I don't know if everyone experiences the level of personal attention and pampering I received. Aaliyah had a one hour wait for her chair. But her charming personality made this wait well worth it.

I brought my 11yo son in with a very botched haircut and Lindsey absolutely fixed it. She comforted my son and me actually from the very beginning, involved both of us on the progress and planning. I am extremely grateful for her professionalism and kindness. She genuinely converted us into lifetime customers. Thanks Lindsey!
