This is not a barbershop, it’s a hair chopping station, designed to rush you through and send you out the door. There is absolutely no care or attention given. If you’re someone who doesn’t care about your hair, just wants it shortened occasionally, and doesn’t really care about proper service, fine come here. But if you expect good service or want value for your money, this is absolutely not the place. I told her twice that I wanted the sides skin zero, and even after repeating it and asking again, she still didn’t make it zero. The fades were done extremely carelessly, and my hair is now full of broken, uneven strands. My boys love getting their hair cut at sports clips. The hair stylists are super friendly. My kids are extremely picky on their hair style and are never disappointed.

It is the Sports Clips in N Ankeny that I really like. I moved here from Phoenix 8 months ago and I had the worst time finding a good stylist. I was in Ankeny for some reason and saw Sports Clips and decided to try it. Ingrid cut my hair so well! I was trying to get this orangy color out and all the other places made my hair worse. But, Ingrid did a fantastic job! She is professional, friendly, and excellent at cutting and styling hair. I always check to see if she is working before I go there. I will always go to her!!

Update: I have been using this shop for the last 2 years. In the beginning, they provided excellent service and did wonderful on my hair. Over the last 6 months however, the quality of my cuts and just basic manners have disappeared. I called in today to see If they were open during the construction. I was told there was a zero wait and to come in. Less then 5 mins later, I arrived to be told I have to wait 80+ mins despite there not being a single person in the store. The lady behind the desk was to busy playing on her phone to even look at me while talking. I only get buzz cuts and fades. If that is to difficult and time-consuming for them, then I can't imagine anyone else who has hair that needs more effort.

They were very kind and patient, especially with my little son. It helped a lot that Nyssa spoke Spanish.
