Speak On It Braids

I would not recommend booking an appointment at this establishment due to my very disappointing experience. The level of professionalism was extremely poor. I scheduled an 11:00 a.m. appointment, arrived early, and ended up waiting until nearly 1:00 p.m. before deciding to leave. Several other clients with scheduled appointments were also waiting hours past their allotted times. When I asked about the delay, I was told rather dismissively that clients with 10:00 a.m. appointments had not even been seated yet, which was very concerning. I then requested a refund of the required deposit. I was informed that it would be returned using my original payment method within 5–7 days. After waiting two hours, that response felt unacceptable, and I ultimately contacted my bank to dispute the charge.

I don’t know why there are such mixed reviews…speak on it braids is top notch. From the moment we walked in, they were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Ashley did a wonderful job with my ten year old daughter and her hair looks beautiful! This is the best experience with my daughter’s hair and we will definitely return for services again. This is the only salon I’ve found in the LA area that has a full service salon that includes hair washing services, has a wide selection of hair to purchase and accepts walk ins! Support your women owned and black owned businesses people!!! They do not disappoint!

I am pleased that they were able to get me an appointment the same day I requested. This is my 2nd time coming here. The 1st time I got their 2 braid special. This time I got Medium knotless braids, which cost $250 plus hair. The young lady did my hair neatly but my parts are too big. I have a total of 39 braids. I took pictures, so I’ll let you be the judge. If I go back I’m going to have to show these pics to make sure they don’t play me again by making me pay for one service and then giving me another that is of lesser value. I won’t speak much on the environment but I will say this, big improvements need to be made if this salon is going to stay in business. To the owner: please stress the importance of professionalism to your staff. The entire salon shouldn’t hear your conversation,

I’m shocked at these bad reviews! Nevertheless, the shop was busy. I had a great experience. I made an appointment for 8:30, (I WOULD NOT SUGGEST WALKING IN UNLESS YOU GOT HOURS TO WAIT), arrived at 8:40 and was in Ash’s chair before 9. I got small box braids waist length and it was $325 plus $18 for the hair. Took Ash 6 hours and we had a great conversation. A lot of the girls do great work and I think the prices are reasonable. I wish my braids were smaller at the top, but I love the color and how they turned out. Would absolutely recommend. Cash only! The ATM at 7-11 doesn’t have a surcharge.

Horrible customer service. Having an appointment means absolutely nothing. My “appointment” was at 9am and I didnt get done until after 12:30pm and I was only getting four cornrows. The owner has an attitude and gets upset when you question why you are still waiting at 10:45 when your appt. was at 9 as if you shouldn't have an issue with that. Do yourself a favor FIND A PROFESSIONAL PLACE TO GO, I wish I had read the reviews first!
