Sonorous African Hair Braiding

Been going to Sono for a couple years and she has the best hands in the city! Will continue to use her for braids. Never too tight and my braids always last, even after washing all the sand out from vacation. She may be working out of her home at the moment, but her home is welcoming and always clean. She’s professional and accommodating. As long as I’m in Jersey, she’s the only one i want braiding me down. Photo including is ONE of the many times she’s braided my hair.

I’ve been to a number of African hair braiding salons and this one takes the #1 stop. Considering the times we’re in (COVID-19), the salon was not crowded with workers and clients. Sonorous was pleasant from the time I scheduled my of appointment to service provided. I got the style I asked for and expected. As expected, my knotless braids didn’t required any pulling of the hair. She made sure to comb and blend my kinky hair while braiding it. Let’s say, I left there very pleased and will return in the near future.

I mentioned to Sonorous how my hair is very thin and about a previous experienced I had where braids literally took my hair out from the scalp because the braider used very very little of my own hair and a lot of braiding hair, which made it extremely heavy and pulled my hair out from the root. Needless to say, she did the exact same thing. I had to take the braids out after 13 days because they were pulling so bad and hurt like hell. When I saw how little of my hair was used and the amount of braiding hair used, I was upset. I am just lucky I took it out before it they all came out from the root.
