Jordan did amazing job cutting my very, very thick hair into a style that is both beautiful and manageable for the summer heat. She also helped me choose the perfect hair color(s) - a balayage ashy blonde paired with fun peek-a-boo purple color. The salon is a very calming and welcoming space that I just love and even though I now live 1600 miles away, I still visit Durham a couple times a year, and will keep using Jordan as my stylist. PS - these pictures were taken a couple of days after my cut, styled myself, so I can verify that the cut is easy to maintain :)

You're in capable hands with Jordan and team! They are very good at caring for curly hair. Their business maybe new, but the stylists are very experienced and have been in this business for a long time!

I go in for a cut with Alex every 6 - 8 weeks and have been going since August of 2024. I went in for a “curly cut” at another salon in Durham and was left looking a mess. The lady didn’t know how to work with my hair texture at all. I am a Latina and have thick, black hair with defined 2C waves. I couldn’t stand the way the other lady left my hair looking so I started searching for someone who could actually cut wavy/curly textured hair, and that’s when I found Alex. I like that Alex listens to what I want and tells me what a reasonable expectation would be given my length and hair texture. It feels like a collaborative effort and I can tell Alex wants me to feel good about my hair. The overall outcome is always good and that’s why I decided to follow Alex to her new Solstice Salon Sui
