Update October: my hair is breaking all the way down the entire strand of where Ari dyed it. Ive had my hair dyed blonde for years and this is the first time I've had this experience. I cannot put into words the amount of stress and heartache this has caused me. I asked in the beginning if she was comfortable and could do what I asked. She said yes. This was not the truth. I will have to grow my hair out for a year if not more to have healthy hair again. Would never recommend Ari. This has been devastating. Ari is very sweet, but I am very disheartened by my haircut and the way my hair was dyed. This is a review for Tawny, who singlehandedly ensured that I went from 2% cool to 200% cool with a shag haircut that I am never, ever, ever getting over. I get compliments DAILY on this haircut. It's a cut I've been able to style as a total ninny. She always susses out what I'm asking for, is really clear with her feedback and suggestions, and is a master of her craft. When I stop being a baby and finally color my hair, she's gonna be the one I call. Extremely attentive and excellent at her work. Book Tawny. (Though I am sure everyone else is lovely too!) Absolutely thrilled with the service I get at Skull & Combs New Haven with Tawny!! Tawny consistently does a fantastic job both with my cut, and color. Additionally, before every service, she confirms exactly what I want, to ensure that I'm happy with what we did during the last session, and if I want to make any changes. Would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking for everything from a simple trim to a complex color-job!

The three times experience I came here was with Tawny. The first time was to talk about the color I wanted and pricing which she walked me through and made me feel comfortable. Then it was to dye my hair purple for a concert and halloween, and the other for both to dye my hair a different color and a haircut. I could not help but feel more confident after leaving the salon and I truly appreciate her. She is talented and generous. I truly recommend her

i’ve been coming to skull and combs for about a year now and i have an amazing experience every time i come in! tawny is such a great hair stylist and always does exactly what i want. on top of delivering magnificent hair cuts she’s also such a kind person and very easy to get along with! as a cosmo student myself it’s great to have her as a resource because she is so knowledgeable about this craft! love tawny and skull and combs :) !
