Zero stars: Terrible appointment management and communication. I first scheduled online and they called me to let me know their business hours had changed, so I had to reschedule two weeks out. Okay, no biggie! Then, they texted me at 8am asking to “confirm my appt today.” By 3 PM, they canceled my appointment and gave the slot to someone else who was “actually a member.” For context, I’m trying their promotional offer with the intention of becoming a member. There was no clear communication about a strict confirmation deadline or that my appointment would be forfeited so quickly (it was still the same day!) Then only after explaining how unfair that was, I was offered a 6:30 PM rebooking despite previously saying their hours had changed which was why my appt got canceled the first time

I initially had a great experience and really enjoyed my facials here, but the quality of service declined over time due to repeated miscommunication, same-day cancellations, and inconsistent customer support. One of my appts got cancelled the same day, so I was told I’d be given a free add-on for the inconvenience. When I tried to use it, I was initially charged. I wasn’t able to show proof of the offer because I had cleaned out my text and the receptionist insisted messages “are not deleted” on their end and they found no record of the offer and that “complimentary add-ons are not typically offered.” I thought I misheard, so I was going to pay for it. I had a very disappointing experience with Skin Laundry Burlingame. I went in for their $69 promotional facial, which advertised a regular price of $499. However, the actual treatment lasted only about 10 minutes. After the visit, I ended up paying almost $200 because they pressured me into a membership, saying I would pay much more without it. I decided not to return because I was not satisfied with the service. A month later, I was shocked to see a $250 charge on my card for a membership I never agreed to continue. When I called customer service, they told me I was locked into a 4-month contract and could not cancel. They said my card would continue to be charged $250 every month, even if I didn’t come back. I am very disappointed with the service at the Skin Laundry Burlingame location. I have had multiple negative experiences, mainly due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of the front desk staff. The attitude feels dismissive, as if clients are not paying for an expensive service. I have been charged incorrectly without authorization, and when I questioned it, I was told—very rudely—that they could charge any card they wanted. Appointments have also been canceled on the same day with little to no notice, even though I had already made plans. Additionally, if I arrive even one minute late, I am refused service, yet when I arrive on time, I am often made to wait. My skin looks and feels so amazing after every treatment. Definitely worth the membership. Every nurse I’ve had a facial with has been friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
